Happy Groundhog Day! Even though the groundhog saw his shadow today and says we have 6 more weeks of winter I’m in denial and ready for Spring. I wanted to share some tips on how to get your house ready for the warmer months to come!
Now is the time to clean out, wipe down, declutter and get organized. Here are some organization tips:
Magazine File on the back of Cabinets
Power Strip in Drawer
Put your power strips in a drawer and keep them in place with a command strip to keep cords and devices out of sight and out of your way!
Storage Bins in Entryway
Have decorative bins in your entryway under a bench for each kid so when they come in they can kick off their shoes and place them in the bin along with their backpacks and anything else they might bring into the house. And next time when they need to put their shoes on they will know exactly where they are!
I like these from Joanna Gaine’s line for Target: https://www.target.com/p/galvanized-metal-storage-bin-large-hearth-hand-153-with-magnolia/-/A-52590872#lnk=sametab
Add some color to your house
Give your front door a new coat of paint
Your front door is the first thing people see when they come to your house and is a great place to add a fun pop of color! Isn’t this coral great?
An inexpensive way to spruce up your living room is to change the pillow covers on the pillows on your couch and chairs. You can easily change them up for every season! Here are some of my favorite:
A great way to bring color and a breath of fresh air all around the house is to use lemons in your decor!
Hope this gives you some ideas of how to get your house ready for Spring!
